A day trip to Brighton from London on Monday, September 7, 2009 - another London Walks "excursion day." This one was also led by Simon (who led the Cambridge day out). Simon lives in Brighton, and has strong opinions on certain local issues. We took the train from Victoria.

Avebury

Avebury, with its stone circle and "henge," is at the center of a World Heritage Site. The stone circles date from 2600 BC. We went to Avebury on Saturday, September 12, 2009, with London Walks on an excursion day which also included Lacock.

Lacock

Lacock is a National Trust property which includes an abbey, Medieval Cloisters, grounds and the Fox Talbot Museum - not to mention the village itself. We visited it after Avebury. Apparently its recent claim to fame is that the Abbey or Cloisters were used as locations for a Harry Potter film.
